back from the dead

MY PHONE IS BACK!!!! :) As I mentioned a few days ago, my phone fell in the toilet and was broken forever (or so I thought). Luis kept telling me that people drop their phones in water all the time and they still worked. I was very suspicious since I didn't think that these alleged people probably didn't have their phones completely submerged in water for several seconds. But Luis, being the wonderful husband that he is, looked online to find out what people have done to make their phones work once again. Most people simply took the battery out an let the phone completely dry out. I tried that for a few hours and it didn't help so I figured my phone was a lost cause. Luis, being the occasional optimist, decided to just leave the battery out of the phone and just left it sitting on the window sill. Then yesterday morning I noticed that the phone was plugged in (which I thought was silly since it wasn't working but I didn't bother to walk across the room to unplug it). Later that day, I went over to the phone and pressed the power button once again (more out of habit than anything else). Then all of the sudden, the phone not only turned on but also went to my screen saver! So I touched the buttons on the front of the phone and it was vibrating! And all of my contacts were still stored on the phone! This was just too good to be true. So I tried calling Luis' phone just to make sure it really was working. But alas the phone would ring and then would make a weird bell sound and then it would ring again and then do the weird bell sound again. Once again, disappointment set in. It seemed like everything was working, but why wasn't it really working? That is when I looked down at the phone and realized that the "bell" sounds I kept hearing were actually my phone advising me that I had messages! This could quite possibly be the best thing that had happened to me all week (yes even better than the monday holiday). Not only did I get my beloved phone back, but I didn't have to worry about paying for a new phone (meaning that I would have to purchase the most inexpensive phone out there and I wouldn't like it as much as I liked my chocolate). Moral of the story: I need to listen to my husband when it comes to electronic matters.
