sicky... part 3

Since I started feeling a little better today (i.e. I could walk across the room without feeling like I was going to faint from overexertion), I decided that I should venture out into the world of the living. I didn't want to do too much too soon so I figured that I should miss classes again (which was good considering the fact that I was awake all night and asleep all morning) and just go to work (so that my coworkers wouldn't have to scramble to cover my shifts again). Unfortunately, I didn't think about the fact that one of the classes I would be missing is a class taught by the full-time reference librarians (these happen to be the faculty members who work at the reference desk with me). So I casually walked up to the desk to take my post and tried to avoid eye contact as much as possible (I was hoping that they wouldn't realize that I had missed class... which had only ended 10 minutes before I got to the desk). My plan was going just fine until one of the librarians asked the other librarian if he could keep a few copies of the worksheet from class so that he could give them to the 3 students who were absent. At this point I figured that I might as well come clean and so I swiveled my chair around so that I was facing them and confessed to having missed class. They both gave me a weird look. I just shrugged, told them I was sick, and forced out a cough hoping they would believe me.
