As I'm sure most of you are aware, I am Brazilian (as a child, I always spelled it with an "s" and when my teachers would try to correct me, I always told them that they were wrong). Though I only lived in Brazil until I was 7 and was born in Sao Paulo, if anyone ever asks, I always say that I'm from Rio de Janeiro (which is convincing since I definitely have a Carioca accent... my s's make a "sh" sound, my r's sound like h's). I love all things Brazilian: the food, the culture, the shoes! Recently Carolina got me hooked on surfing Brazilian blogs, and today I came across this:Apparently Twilight is all the rage in Brazil too! Crazy. There is even an entire website devoted to all things Twilight. I'll admit it, I finally broke down and started reading the series after a lot of introspection. I have yet to finish the last book. I had borrowed it from the library and was only about 1/3 of the way through reading it when I had to return it. I really don't understand why everyone is soooo sucked into the story, and I feel no urgency to finish it. I'm also currently about 1/4 of the way through the 4th Harry Potter book (Luis begged me to finish the series before the next movie comes out), but it just hasn't grabbed my attention yet.
P.S. When I went to Brazil for an internship a couple of summers ago, my dad asked my grandma to take me to the hospital where I was born. I found the hospital's name to be very interesting:
