2 years ago today

As Luis picked me up from my internship this afternoon, he looked over at me and asked, "Do you know what day it is today?" I quickly went through a mental checklist of all possible TV show premieres and couldn't think of anything special. "Oh it's September 30th," I said. "29th.," he responded. Of course, how could I forget. Two years ago today was the day of our infamous first date (the one I asked him on). Since it has been two years, I thought I would share two bonding moments from that night:

Bonding Moment #1: It seemed like we have be traipsing through the corn maze at HeeHaw Farms forever. We turned corner after corner with no end in sight. I finally made a conscious decision to ignore the "No Cutting Through the Corn" signs. We cut through one section of corn, no problem. It was then I spotted another section of corn that I wanted to cut through. Luis was a little hesitant. I was determined. As I went to part the corn and step through it, a flashlight suddenly was lit, "NO CUTTING THROUGH THE CORN!!!" came a voice from behind the light. In the split second it took me to turn around, I saw Luis running for his life, and all I could do was to chase after him.

Bonding Moment #2: After the "normal" maze, we went to the "haunted" maze. This was a sectioned-off portion of the maze where "scary" people would come out of the corn stalks. It was all in good fun for the most part, and I was enjoying having someone's arm to squeeze when I got scared. As we approached the chainsaw sound I had been hearing for the last several minutes, my heart began to pound faster and faster. As my heart rate accelerated, so did our stride. Our leisurely walk, turned into a power walk, which turned into an all-out sprint as the crazy man with the chainsaw started to chase us through the corn. He inched closer and closer until we were trapped... I kept backing up and baking up until Luis and I were pinned against the corn stalks screaming. And before I knew it, I had fallen into the corn stalks.

(P.S. I know the picture above is not exactly the most attractive picture of us, but it is the only one we took together that night so I'm glad that we have it)
