When Luis and I got married, he came equipped with 4 different boxes of cereal. I only had 2 (which I have since eaten). And although I am really good about making weekly menus/grocery lists for our dinners (which is the only meal we actually eat together) and only buying the things on my list when I go to the store, I can never seem to remember to put my cereal on the list. This doesn't usually cause too much of a problem since I tend to skip breakfast. However, on days like today when I need to wake up extra early to finish an assignment, I tend to get hungry before lunch. And since I would have no access to a vending machine until 4 pm, I decided that it would be a good idea to take some of Luis' cereal so that I could snack halfway through the day. Big mistake. For some reason, Luis likes non-frosted cereal (I know, weird huh?). I grew up on Frosted Flakes and it took about 15 years of my life for me to be brave enough to wander into the uncharted areas of the cereal world (when my family first moved to the United States, all cereal tasted like cardboard to me so I refused to put anything in my mouth that didn't come from a blue box with a big orange tiger). So now that I'm all grown up, in addition to Frosted Flakes, I am willing to eat Lucky Charms and Life (which I think is probably the healthiest of cereals I will ever eat). So back to the story. I went to the pantry this morning to look through Luis' cereals. I decided to go with the Frosted Mini-Wheats which is the sugariest of cereals he owns, but unfortunately not sugary enough for my taste. Why is the frosting only on 1 side? Honestly, if someone is paying for sugary cereal, the least Kellogg's could do is FROST BOTH SIDES!!! You don't see Kellogg's only putting frosting on one side of Frosted Flakes. Why do it with Mini-Wheats? Really, is it that expensive to put more frosting on those things. What is the price of sugar these days? 3.00/lb? Tell you what, Kellogg's, I'll pay you extra for a box of cereal for the rest of my life if you'll just add more frosting to Mini-Wheats. I mean, honestly, if you can make Strawberry Delight Mini-Wheats and Maple & Brown Sugar Mini-Wheats, surely you can just add more frosting to the regular Mini-Wheats.
