Luis and I have many things in common, one of is the fact that neither really enjoys football. And when you live in a small town where the roads were not constructed to accommodate large crowds, it makes things really frustrating. Luis was supposed to work all day today, I only had an afternoon shift to work. Since we only have 1 car we usually go everywhere together. So our options were:
1) I drop Luis off at work, go home to clean/run errands, and then I drive myself to work and pick up Luis from his job after my shift was over. This option didn't really work considering the fact that by the time I came home, got things done and then tried to go back for my shift, I would be right in the middle of football traffic and would end up being late (not to mention the fact that I knew that once I got to campus I wouldn't be able to find a parking spot anywhere).
2) Luis drives himself to work, and then comes to pick me up at home so that he could drop me off at school in time for my shift. This was also not a good option since we would still have the football traffic problem and an added bonus of wasting way too much gas driving back and forth.
3) So that left us with the only possible solution the the problem, we would leave together in the morning. But of course this meant being stuck at school all morning. (Just for the record, Luis would have been ok with either of the previous options, but I didn't think they were good ideas).
So this leads me back to my original topic. BYU football is annoying. I don't understand why people like watching sports live so much. I know that it is exciting to be watching with a bunch of other really excited people, but people could get just as good of a "crowd" going at their own homes (with an added bonus that at home you can decide who you sit next to and you don't have to get stuck sitting next to the guy with the body paint and you don't have to worry about going home with a ruined shirt because the body paint guy kept bumping into you when he jumps up and down for any random play). At home, you don't have to worry about trying to find a parking spot (which you'll only find if you drive 2 miles away from the stadium and then you're stuck walking all the way to the stadium and back). Not to mention the fact that watching sports on TV is soooo much better than watching them live. AND on TV you can actually see the plays and you get all sorts of different angles and of course there is instant replay :)
