primary program

I'm not sure why, but it seems that a lot of wards will throw their newlyweds into nursery right away (maybe it's a sign that they want us to have kids, but if you ask me, having to take care of ten 2-year olds would be the best preventative measure). Luis and I got lucky and weren't thrown into the nursery (but they did split us up... which is odd since it seems like all of the other newlyweds in the ward have callings where they work together). Anyway, Luis got called to work with the young me, and I got primary (the 10-12 year olds to be exact). I was pretty excited because I remember being that age and loving primary. For the most part, we end up teaching 8-12 year olds which presents quite a challenge when you have some kids who are very active. But overall, I have been enjoying my experience and it is fun to figure out a balance between entertaining them and teaching them the gospel.

Today was our primary program, and I was so impressed with my kids. Although they tend to have a hard time sitting still in class, they were all so good during the program (having their parents staring at them may have had something to do with it), but either way they were able to hold still while sitting, sing all the verses to their songs, and they each did a really good job with their parts.
