sin nombre

Last night was our 2nd annual Girl's Night at the Sundance Film Festival (Ankitha- we missed you). Our first go-around, we had no tickets (thought we were really close to getting in on the standby line), no idea where to park, and no real idea what was going on. This time around, Liz planned ahead and got us tickets to go see Sin Nombre. I absolutely loved this movie! It was about a Honduran girl and a Mexican gang banger. The Honduran girl is trying to get to New Jersey with her family. As they are trying to not get caught by la migra while riding the trains through Mexico, their lives intersect with the gang banger's story. After the film ended there was a Q&A with the film maker and lead actor (who came straight from Honduras and didn't speak any English). All in all we had a great night of movie watching, red carpet walking, word of wisdom breaking (those darn coffee beans hidden in desserts... they'll get you every time), and picture taking with a Park City randoms (I swear I didn't instigate it this time... he just got in the picture). Can't wait until next year :)
