Someone once told me that chicken fried stake was a piece of breaded chicken that was flattened to look like a steak. I'm not a huge fan of breaded fried foods so I've never bothered to check to see if that was really what it was. We were at ihop a few weeks ago and I commented on how the name was absurd because it wasn't even really steak. I was quickly corrected and told that it was steak. I still thought it was odd, but shrugged it off. Well today (which perusing a few food blogs looking for some new recipes) I came across this golden masterpiece of nastiness:At this point you might be asking yourself, what is that? A breaded rib? A long cut of loin? Nope. This, my friends, is chicken fried bacon. Yes breaded deep-fried bacon. Why would anyone eat this? I don't know. But I have vivid visions of arteries being clogged in my mind right now.
