baby stuff

Babies have a lot of stuff. Luis and I babysat my nieces this evening and they showed up with 2 car seats, a stroller (a less complicated one from the one they came with last time I babysat them), an exersaucer, a bean bag, two blankets, a princess pillow, and two bags (one with diapers and pajamas and the other with food, bottles, and other miscellaneous items. Granted, most of that stuff was brought so that we could take them in the car with us to a friend's BBQ, but still. I am just amazed at how much stuff you need in order to take care of a child. We watch the girls every so often at my brother's house, but he lives in an actual house so it doesn't feel like it is all that much stuff. A lot of my neighbors have small children, and it makes me wonder where they put all this stuff. I have no idea where we would ever put toys or high chairs or cribs or swings. This can only mean one thing: we need to save a bazillion dollars before we start having kids.
