Remember this post? At the time I didn't really bother to figure out why chicken fried steak received that name. I was looking at a recipe blog today, saw a recipe for chicken fried steak, and got curious about the origin. So I Wikipedia'd it. Turns out that the reason they give for the name is that the steak is prepared the same way that fried chicken is prepared. But I also looked up some recipes for chicken fried steak and discovered that a lot of recipes out there call for chicken stock. Interesting.
P.S. I still have absolutely no desire to make and/or eat the stuff
